Building styles in Jávea

Jávea has one of the most varied housing stocks on the Costa Blanca, shaped by its old town, port and green hills:

• Old town in tosca stone – houses built from the local golden sandstone, with wrought-iron balconies around the Gothic church of San Bartolomé.
• Port and Arenal – fishermen’s houses, apartments and townhouses within walking distance of the harbour and the sandy Arenal beach.
• Mediterranean villas – white villas with terracotta roofs and covered terraces on generous plots in areas such as Tosalet and Portitxol.
• Contemporary luxury villas – new builds with flat roofs, glass façades and infinity pools on the Montgó and Granadella hills.
